Craig Wellington is a writer, director, producer, performer, character actor and public speaker.
His diverse experience incorporates television, radio, live theatre and events. He works for numerous corporate clients, entertainment and arts organisations throughout the eastern seaboard of Australia. He has also created projects of cultural significance to his home town of Hobart, Tasmania, including the successful annual boutique event, The Hobart Comedy Festival and the Tasmanian Theatre Unit Trust, a new production company. He is a board member of Asthma Tasmania.
Craig has also variously worked for ABC Television Melbourne, the BBC Natural History Unit, countless corporate and government clients and projects, as well as being the producer of the Hobart Comedy Festival since 2002. He is regularly called upon by advertising agencies, corporate firms and community organisations to consult or manage projects.
As a performer he has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and numerous times at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He is a published author and has written and produced numerous documentaries and commercial television and radio. As a Master of Ceremonies, Craig has worked up and down the Eastern Seaboard for conferences for Harvey World Travel, Rotary International and Tourism Tasmania. He as most recently acted as MC in Tasmania for the PICAS (Printing Industry Awards), REIT Awards (Real Estate Institute of Tasmania) and for quirky, entertaining and lucrative fundraisers for the Heart Foundation Tasmania and MS Society Tasmania.
His writing experience incorporates all media, he is a published author, occasional travel an entertainment writer and has written numerous plays and theatre restaurant scripts.
