Truly appalling pieces of theatre can still make it to Broadway if you can convince someone stupid enough to put their money into it.
A mug Stockbroker forked out ten million dollars to stage a show described by the New York Times as “ The weirdest musical ever staged on Broadway”
The poster said it all believe it or not in the background were lemons.
Amongst the bizarre characters in this musical were a Queeny angel, a singer song writer with Tourette’s syndrome and an insufferable child actor auditioning for American idol.
The same man wrote, directed and produced this musical described by Time Out magazine as a “turkey”, “deeply weird ” and with characters who “fall in love without chemistry, suffer without arousing sympathy and die only to one’s relief”.
I gave it a miss.
